Jean Carper (born January 3, 1932) is a New York Times best-selling author,[1] an American medical journalist,[2] contributing editor to USA Weekend,[3] and author of 24 books.
Early life and education
Jean Elinor Carper was born January 3, 1932, the daughter of Jethro and Natella Marie (Boyer) Carper, in Delaware, Ohio.[4][5][6] She is a 1953 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio,[1] where she majored in speech and was a member of the debate team that won a state championship.[7]
Career
Carper was CNN's first medical correspondent when the network began in 1980.[8][9] She has also appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America and Dateline.
